Support for the design of an ultralight trailer. Lightweight design means optimizing mechanical behaviour in order to achieve the same or better performance as with existing trailers while reducing component weight. Doing this requires a keen understanding of structural behavior, and in many cases the best approach is a comprehensive structural analysis using the finite element analysis. Genicad has been using this technique for years thanks to its proficiency with the Ansys software.
